Lou Power Ceramics

Lou Power is a London-based ceramicist specialising in creating one-off, hand-built sculptural wall pieces and 3D sculptures.

Almost three decades ago, Lou graduated with a ceramics degree from Cardiff. Her relationship with clay came full circle in 2023, when she finally responded to a decades-long calling.

Power is interested in what exists between shapes and buildings: the negative space, the fabric of the man-made structure, and where architecture meets the wide, open expanse of sky. “I’m interested in how our physical environment creates a response to our beings. How our man-made world integrates with the natural, and where we live amongst it all.”

Her colour palette remains neutral, allowing the eye to focus on shape, form, light and texture, and to complement the clay’s origin in the earth.
